Newave Conceptpower Gemini Frame

Newave Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems represent the pinnacle of modern day redundant, scalable, modular, transformer-less, 3-phase power protection for critical IT applications. The Newave Gemini UPS System is composed of 20kVA hot swappable power modules that can be paralleled for redundancy or capacity. Each Gemini frame can contain up to two Newave power modules and up to four strings of internal batteries. This unique system is ideal for IT infrastructures requiring quality power in a compact square footage area.

The hot swappable design minimizes service time and maintenance costs while reducing the Mean Time to Repair (MTTR). With reduced MTTR, the Newave Gemini UPS System results in 6–9’s of availability versus 5–9’s from competitive products.

Vertical scalability is achieved by paralleling UPS power modules within each frame. For example, a Gemini frame can have up to two 20kVA UPS power modules configured as 40kVA capacity or 20kVA N+1 redundancy for high availability.

Horizontal scalability is achieved by paralleling up to five Gemini individual frames (180kVA N+1 max). This powerful capability provides IT managers with a truly redundant, pay-as-you-grow, modular, power protection solution.

Distributed Parallel Architecture - The Epitome of Complete Redundancy

img_bdy_geminidiagram

The Newave Distributed Parallel Architecture (DPA) is based on independent modules that include virtually the entire UPS hardware and software, therefore eliminating all common elements which are potential single points of failures. A hot swappable DPA-module includes distributed CPU’s, distributed control panels, distributed power units and distributed static bypass switches. The multiple redundant battery strings are on a “common” DC plane/bus system, shared by the UPS modules.
